🔐 Trëzôr Wallet® | Starting Up Your Device®
Welcome to the official setup guide for your Trëzôr Wallet®. This guide is designed to help you safely initialize and operate your new device, whether it's a Trezor Model One or Model T. Hardware wallets like Trëzôr are designed to keep your cryptocurrencies secure from hackers, malware, and phishing threats by storing your private keys offline. By the end of this walkthrough, you'll be ready to receive, send, and manage crypto assets with peace of mind.
📦 Step 1: Unboxing Your Trëzôr Wallet®
Carefully open the sealed packaging. You should find the following items inside:
- Your Trëzôr device (Model One or Model T)
- USB cable
- Recovery seed cards (1 or 3 depending on model)
- Getting started guide
- Stickers and warranty info
🚨 Note: If the holographic seal is damaged or if the box looks tampered with, do not use the device. Contact Trezor Support immediately.
This is the official entry point for setting up your device. Here’s what to do:
- Connect your Trëzôr to your computer using the provided USB cable
- Download and install Trezor Suite (available for Windows, macOS, and Linux)
- Open Trezor Suite and wait for it to detect your device
⚙️ Step 3: Install Firmware
New Trëzôr devices are shipped without firmware installed. This is for security reasons, ensuring that you install a fresh, untampered version.
- Click “Install Firmware” in Trezor Suite
- Verify the fingerprint shown on your device screen
- After installation, proceed to wallet setup
🔐 Step 4: Create Your Wallet
Now you’ll choose how to initialize your wallet:
- Select “Create new wallet”
- Choose a backup type: Standard (1 seed) or Shamir Backup (3+ shares, Model T only)
- Follow on-screen prompts to proceed
📝 Step 5: Back Up Your Recovery Seed
This is the most crucial step of your setup. Your recovery seed is your ultimate backup. It allows you to recover your wallet if your device is lost, stolen, or damaged.
- Write down the 12, 18, or 24 words shown on your Trëzôr screen
- Use the provided recovery sheet or a fireproof alternative
- Never save the seed on your computer, phone, or online
🔒 Security Tip: Store your recovery seed in a secure physical location — like a fireproof safe — and never share it with anyone.
🔢 Step 6: Set a PIN
To protect your device from unauthorized use, set a secure PIN:
- PINs must be 4 to 9 digits
- Use a pattern that’s not easy to guess
- Enter it using the randomized grid on your device screen
💼 Step 7: Add Crypto Wallets
With your wallet initialized, you can now add crypto accounts. Supported assets include:
- Bitcoin (BTC)
- Ethereum (ETH)
- Litecoin (LTC)
- Cardano (ADA)
- Thousands of ERC-20 tokens
Use the “Add Account” button in Trezor Suite to manage wallets separately for each asset.

- Click “Receive”
- Verify the address on your Trëzôr device
